Hi.
I'm just returning the favor from whoever visited our site to say hi. Did you guys know that there are THREE game wikis out there? And they all seem to have started this year. What are the odds. -- Evisruc, from Encyclopedia Gamia
- Forgot my password and don't remember what Email I used. Anyway, this is the same guy as above, and whoever posted on our message board forum as a Guest, it'd be cool if you dropped by the boards again to reply to some weird debate we're having. Your (or anyone else here) input on the matter would be appreciated. -- EGrep, who used to be Evisruc.

Very intresting wiki site!... Thanx! --HarryRens 18:23, 15 October 2005 (UTC)
New Front Page Layout
One thing which we could change: instead of linking to 'list of systems' for platforms, link to the category which contains all the platform's games under the '<Platform> Games' heading in the banner? -- tyagi 00:29, 22 March 2006 (UTC)
- Yes, I quite like it. In Firefox the top box is a little wider thean the rest of the page - is this fixable? I had a go but it didn't work ... Also, the "All Systems" and "All games" look a bit off in small caps - is this because they're bold? Xevious 10:02, 22 March 2006 (UTC)
- Fixed the All Caps thing, but can't seem to fix the banner box overhang. Strange one. I'll keep playing with the formatting and see if I can get it right. -- tyagi 23:09, 23 March 2006 (UTC)
- I've got an even width at GamerWiki:ScratchPad but lost the text style... --Barthax 00:02, 24 March 2006 (UTC)
- Text style solved, silly mistake with font-variant: small-caps; --Barthax 00:11, 24 March 2006 (UTC)
- Can you put one header on the scratchpad that you believe fixes the problem? I can then look at it easily. I've done an interim fix on the front page using a sizing of 99% for the header bar width. I'll look at your solution though, as mine is a bit of a hack. -- tyagi 00:15, 24 March 2006 (UTC)
- Done. Mess around with the % on the second, third & fourth cells to get the positioning as you need it. --Barthax 00:23, 24 March 2006 (UTC)
STALKER Info
Hi folks, I'd like to present a lot of info I've compiled on STALKER. Would your wiki page be a place to present it? It's basically what you might consider the "reference tables" that would appear in the back of a game guide. Things like, all items that can be found in the game, cost and weight of the items, things that are best for cost/weight, etc. It's all collected by me. If agreeable, it's ultimately likely to need subpages, and/or it might spark the interest of others on the GSC forum for STALKER to contribute. It could even result in a huge STALKER wiki, because STALKER has no wiki yet - and any good game needs a wiki. Is this a good request or a bad request, given how your site works? Thanks for letting me know a.s.a.p. - RedKnight 03:09, 21 April 2007 (UTC)
- My opinion - the more the merrier. But it probably wouldn't fit on the main page for the game so much. Instead, I think that subpages should be set up - so you'd have a page, say, at STALKER Shadow of Chernobyl (PC)/Reference tables and another at STALKER Shadow of Chernobyl (PC)/Single-player strategy and so on. The other alternative would be to look at StrategyWiki, but obviously it depends on what information you've collected and where it would fit. Any comments from others? Xevious 14:16, 21 April 2007 (UTC)
- I'm more than happy to help out RedKnight setting up a STALKER section. We can carry on some discussion here of what's required and then move it once we've set up the basics of the area he'd like. So, happy to help, let us know what you need and we'll set up the basics for you to start editing. -- tyagi 09:41, 22 April 2007 (UTC)
- I've been considering some similar ideas for the likes of the Gran Turismo games - there's far more information for this sort of game than can fit on any reasonable single wiki page. Add to that there's also the possibility of inter-linking between the different versions of the series. "The more the merrier" - agreed. :) --Barthax 15:22, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
- Xevious started something with the concept of GameSeries pages, which contain all the games in a given series. How about something which extends this to make the GameSeries page in to a component of a GameSeriesPortal page? i.e. we take the GameSeries information and include it in a GameSeriesPortal which contains, or links to, all the background stuff about a game series which isn't specific to one release in that series? In this way, the STALKER idea would be a single game portal, but no doubt there will be a STALKER2 at some point? Anyone care to expand on this idea? -- tyagi 00:46, 24 April 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, having a game page, for example, STALKER, but which isn't just a list of games in that series, but which is more of a portal for that game series. The sort of page where you could put all the general information about the series, but which isn't specific to one title. The existing GameSeries list would just be one component of that page. More of a 'portal' concept, I suppose. -- tyagi 11:50, 25 April 2007 (UTC)
- I think that was something I always thought of doing, but it came a long way down the list behind my cataloguing activities. So there would be links to, say STALKER/Reference Tables if they were applicable to the whole series, as well as the individual games? Xevious 16:38, 25 April 2007 (UTC)
